How much are shipping charges?
Shipping rates vary within the State of Florida based on weight and destination of shipment. We can only estimate the shipping charges before the order is processed. The actual shipping charges will be included on your invoice. However, a good estimate is 5% of the total cost of the books or
$5.00, whichever is greater. The 5% represents only an estimate to allow enough funds to be available on your purchase order. The 5% estimate is generally higher than the actual cost you will be charged. You will not be charged the 5%, but will be charged the actual cost based on the weight and destination of each shipment.
How long does it take to receive my order?
Once we have received and processed your order, it is normally shipped the next business day. Processing could be delayed if clarifications are required. Please keep in mind that during the heavy ordering and shipping months of the summer, your order could take longer to process and ship. Delivery is usually in 1-2 days after shipment.
Can I pick up my order instead of having it shipped?
Yes, after it has been processed and prepared for shipping or pick-up. If you would like to pick up your order rather than have it shipped, please indicate this on your order and list your phone number. We will call you in about three working days when your order is ready.
How will I get the free materials that go with what I order?
Various free teaching materials are available, upon request, with your purchase of certain quantities of student materials; free materials will not be shipped automatically. Your request must meet the guidelines set by the publisher. Please see our
Catalogs for details.
What are State Adopted instructional materials?
Go Back
The Florida Department of Education operates a comprehensive Adoption Program designed to provide Florida public schools with a wide variety of high quality K-12 instructional materials. Materials that meet the qualifications are adopted by way of a contract with the publisher that controls, among other things, content, manufacturing quality, availability, and price. The contracts run from 4 to 8 years in length (mostly 6) and end March 31 of the expiration year.
Adopted titles appear in our catalog in all capital letters; in our database they are indicated by the display of the adoption contract expiration year after the title.
What are Non-state Adopted instructional materials?
Go Back
These titles are not governed by a contract between the Florida Department of Education and the publisher. Non-adopted titles are listed at Florida School Book Depository with the mutual consent of the publisher and Florida School Book Depository Their content, availability and price are subject to change at any time without notice.
Non-adopted titles appear in the catalog in lower case letters and in the database with no expiration date after the title.
